National Sweepstakes Perpetual Trophy Race & Conners Memorial Trophy

The 1957 race was won by Canada's Miss Supertest [II]. In the first heat of the 1957 race Wha Hoppen Too burst into flames and burned to the water line. Bob Schroeder in Wildroot Charlie made numerous passes trying to douse the blaze with his roostertail, but the boat sank. Driver Marv Henrich suffered burned hands, but was otherwise uninjured.
