Sam Crooks Dominates Regatta at Buffalo

Rutgers made a clean sweep in of all outboard classes in the person of Sam Crooks who took first place on points in all four classes. A, B. C and F, at the regatta of the Buffalo Launch Club on July 14 and 15. He piled up a total point score of 4,700 out of a possible 4.800. In the professional classes Fred Jacoby Jr. of North Bergen. N. J., cleaned up in Classes A and B with three straight heats in A and two in B. Cab Walier took first place in Class C with Jacoby second the Class F professional event went to Bob Grahau with two firsts and a second.

Speeds of all boats were slower than usual on account of rough water which prevailed on both days. The heavy current in the Niagara River also hampered the speed of the pilots materially.

Prizes were presented to the winners by Mayor George J. Zimmermann of Buffalo at a dinner at the Grand Island Clubhouse.
